A work order links a reported fault to the people who have to fix it. The maintenance board sorts work by status and priority. Each repair has its own detailed record.
Raise a clear request
Start with the location and a description an engineer can use. Set the right priority, then add any supporting information so the engineer understands the fault before arriving. If the request came from a guest concern, the link between the two stays visible.
Assign and work the task
A manager or another authorized person assigns an engineer. The engineer works from the task details, keeping progress up to date and recording the work done. Add photos, checklists and parts records where the workflow asks for them.
Complete and review
Record completion when the work is done. If a completion review is required, the reviewer approves the result or sends it back for more work. A finished repair doesn’t resolve a linked guest concern. Front office still has to follow up.
Set up recurring work
Use recurring work configuration for your hotel’s routine maintenance. Check the schedule and who’s responsible when you set it up. Adding an asset record doesn’t create a preventive task on its own.
Record what actually happened
Record the real location and assignment, along with the evidence. If a field is unknown, don’t fill it in just to make the task look complete. Leave it unknown. Update it when you can confirm it.
